TREATMENT FOR WRINKLES AND LINES
WHAT ARE ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS?
Our anti-wrinkle injections involve injecting small controlled quantities of anti-wrinkle injections into specific muscles using a tiny needle; this smooths lines and wrinkles by stopping the muscle from moving. As the muscle no longer contracts to cause lines, it creates a natural softening to dynamic lines and wrinkles and gives you a natural, fresh, and rejuvenated appearance.

During the time that the treatment is working, these lines cannot get any deeper as you are unable to crease the skin, which is why people often have this treatment to prevent the formation of wrinkles and soften current ones. However, anti-wrinkle injections do not remove deep lines that are etched on the skin. They may improve them the lines slightly and they will certainly not stop them from getting any worse. However if you wish to have than deep lines improved you may also be advised other treatments in conjunction with the anti-wrinkle injections, such as SylFirmX, DermaPen and Dermal Fillers. Your bespoke treatment plan will be arranged at the time of your consulation prior to any treatment you have.
For the lower face, anti-wrinkle injections can be used for an upside-down frown or chin pebbling, as anti-wrinkle injections will be adminstered carefully to inhibit muscle movement causing these lines. However for static lines such as lines on the cheeks, nose to mouth (nasolabial lines) or marionette lines, dermal filler and resurfacing treatmetns are more often the best course of action.

Are Anti-wrinkle injections safe?
Over the last 2 decades, anti-wrinkle injections have been used to treat tens of millions of patients worldwide for both cosmetic and medical reasons, making it one of the most common nonsurgical cosmetic procedures. The product is classed as a medicine in the UK and is widely used to treat numerous medical conditions and there is long-term data on its safety.
When administered correctly it will typically last for 3 – 4 months (however individual factors apply and some clients get a longer or shorter duration than this), the anti-wrinkle injections is not painful as ultra-fine needles are used. However, it can be mildly uncomfortable, and if you would like, then we can apply a numbing cream to the area 10 minutes before treatment, which will make it entirely pain-free.
It is a quick, easy, and very effective treatment with little or no recovery time.

WHAT DOES HAVING ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS INVOLVE?

Your first step will be to book a consultation.

On the day of your consultation, your clinician will explain the treatment and advise if it is suitable for you. They will also recommend other treatments that you may benefit from. For example, if your lines are very deep and will not be removed by anti-wrinkle injections alone, you may benefit from dermapen or i-pixel as this would decrease the wrinkle depth. If you have lines on your lower face, you may benefit from dermal filler.

Your clinician will also be able to recommend which skin care products will work best to enhance your anti-wrinkle injection result.

Providing there are no contraindications, and after the consultation, you wish to go ahead, you will be able to have your treatment on the same day, or if you prefer, you can re-book and come back another time to have the treatment.

If you wish to go ahead, consent will be taken, and pre-treatment photography will be accepted. Photography is strictly confidential and is used for medico-legal reasons so that we may compare the photograph to one which will be taken at your follow-up appointment. This will enable us to assess how you respond to Botox, which will help us establish the correct dose for you.

The treatment is not painful as the needles we use are very fine, so we don't routinely numb clients; however, numbing cream can be applied for 10-15 minutes if you would like. Please request this either at reception on arrival at the clinic or when you enter the room for your consultation.

You will have a series of injections into the area you are having treated; the injection time is very quick and takes only around 5 minutes.

Immediately after, there will be small marks / tiny lumps on the face where the product has been injected; they will go down after around 10 minutes.

You should not apply any of your products (including makeup) over the area treated for at least 6 hours.

Your aftercare advice will be given – do not apply any makeup to the site for 6 hours, avoid exercise for 24 hours and avoid any blood thinners, including alcohol, for 24 hours.

If this is your first time having treatment with us, you will be booked for a follow-up appointment in 2 weeks, where your treatment can be topped-up free of charge if required, or any adjustments (drop brow or raise a brow, for example) can be made.

WHAT DOES THIS TREATMENT INVOLVE?This non-surgical facelift uses a range of dermal fillers to achieve the desired effect. Depending on your requirements, these can be administered to specific face areas like the cheeks, under the eyes, or lower face, dependent upon on which areas you need to improve.

WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT FROM THIS NON-SURGICAL FACELIFT WITH FACE FILLERS?You will instantly see an improvement in your appearance, but you may have some swelling and redness from the injections, which can take a day or two to settle. The best result is visible typically after around 7-10 days when any mild swelling has subsided. The result will be an improved and rejuvenated facial appearance, which should appear more lifted.

HOW LONG DOES A LIQUID FACELIFT/ 8 POINT FACELIFT TAKE TO SETTLE?Most people look fine by the next day; if you do have any swelling or bruising, it is likely to be mild and covered by the next day with makeup.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?Bruising can happen, albeit rare, however there are also steps you can take to minimise this which we will advise in our pre and post care information, although no practitioner can guarantee against such. Immediately after treatment your skin may appear red and feel a little sore. There may also be some mild swelling but this will subside within a couple of days. Each patient is an individual and everyone will react differently, however we do our best at all times to ensure the most comfortable and positive experience for every patient that chooses us at Gallery Aesthetics. You will be sent full pre and post treatment care prior to your appointment.

RISKS & SIDE EFFECTSFillers are only as good as the person injecting them, regardless of the product used, and therefore aren’t something to take lightly. At Gallery Aesthetics we only use the highest grade products, with specialist trained practitioners administering them. We are all fully insured and qualified to carry out these procedures and highly trained should any potential complications arise, albeit this is very, very rare. General side effects are swelling and/ or bruising and these usually subside within 2-3 days post procedure. Final results will be visible around 2 weeks post procedure. You will be provided with complete aftercare and if you are concerned about anything, please contact us. If you suffer from coldsores (herpes virus), having a lip augmentation can trigger a breakout. If you have a coldsore at the time of your appointment this is a contraindication and can result in complications, therefore unfortunately we will be unable to treat you. Dermal fillers are made up of a naturally occurring substance therefore it is extremely rare to suffer an allergic reaction. All of the dermal fillers we use are fully reversible, instantly.

AM I A SUITABLE CANDIDATE?The ideal patient for a thread lift is over 30, have realistic expectations and not wishing to have surgery. A thread lift is an option with temporary results, for those with sagging skin. You must be in good health with realistic expectations.

WHAT PRODUCTS DO WE USE?At Gallery Aesthetics we stock a number of fillers which are all top of the range and premium brands. Different products can produce different results and often the brand we will use will depend on the result you want to achieve. Natural results generally require the use of thinner products and this is most often our preference. The fillers we use are based on hyaluronic acid (HA), which is the body’s own natural skin plumper and so has an almost impossible risk of an allergic reaction. Thinner or less dense fillers are used for surface areas like lips and crow’s feet, and thicker ones are injected deeper and used in the jawline are and cheeks for example. All the fillers we use are fully reversible, so if necessary they can be immediately dissolved. Our techniques are based on achieving natural results. A natural look is our forte and we pride ourselves in our undetectable results. We use Juvederm, Aliaxin, Belotero Balance, Restylane and Perfectha HA fillers amonsgst others, and we choose the one we feel will suit you best as an individual, based on the various properties of them that suit you best.
